North Fork Trail is a 1,400-foot climb to a small lake. There is another trail that comes from the other side where dogs are allowed on a leash. You can bring your dog up to the lake and let them swim and run. The North Fork trail is a watershed, which means no dogs are allowed. The trailhead for this trail has a large paved parking lot. This trail starts at about 7k feet up, so the air is thin. Most of the trail is covered by trees, making it bearable in the summertime. I would recommend hiking early in the morning or in the spring or fall. It was in the lower 90s when we hiked it, making this a brutal hike.
The remaining photos are the return trip, which is very picturesque.
