The Hoof n Boot Trail is a small trail that leads from the valley up to the Suncrest neighborhood (or the other way around if you park at the rest area at the top and hike down first).
If you park at the bottom, there is usually plenty of parking at the Coyote Hollow Trail Head parking area. The other place to park is at the rest area at the Peak View Trail Head (both are shown in red boxes above).
Since we live at the top, we started from there and went down, starting from the peak view trail.
What’s nice about this trail is that it is narrow and bikes are not allowed (nobody with a bike would want to attempt it anyway).
If you parked in the rest area, you’ll be starting from that road shown in the last image.
There is a rest area and a horse-hitching post along the way.
As you can see, the trail continues in and out of a forested area and cliffs with magnificent views.
Both the rest area at the top and bottom of the trail have bathrooms.
