Utah – Delicate Arch Trail

Delicate arch is located in Arches National Park. This trail is 3.1 miles and has an elevation gain of 613 feet. Most of the trail is smooth (not rocky) but an almost continuous incline from the parking lot to the arch.

The trail to delicate arch starts out as a side walk style dirt and gravel trail.

Expect a lot of traffic on this trail. These pictures were taken in October. Summer months are more congested. People look like ants in this photo.
The trail at this point turns into a large flat (but sloped) rock.

Eventually the trail narrows some and becomes more interesting.
Part of the trail follows a a cliff around the back side of the arch.

This is the ledge behind the arch. It’s the last part of the trail.
Up ahead is the end of the trail. Where everyone is standing and trying to get a picture.
As you can see it’s impossible to get a picture without people under the arch.
