This trail is only 1.7 miles long, but it is strenuous. Most of the trail is large boulders. Some are slippery from being polished by the sand that is picked up by hiker’s shoes. There is a 40 foot slot that you must either climb (if your going the correct way) or descend. It is easier to climb this rock than to descend and there is only room for one person in the slot. If people need to pass, then someone must wait until another person (or group) come down. In the summer, I would recommend wearing gloves when climbing the 40 foot slot. The rock is so hot in the direct sunlight, that it will burn your skin. Wear sunscreen!
